Last night we had so much fun going to a corn maize down at Thanksgiving Point. We went with Adam and one of our good friends from Georgia, Kate Heniger. It was truly a blast. We had fun going through the haunted corn maize, shooting pumpkins out of a gun, riding in a cow train, racing each other on bikes, jumping on a huge air pillow, and much more. It was pretty much the ultimate autumn celebration. The four of us really had a great time. Here are some pictures.....enjoy!

Happy Autumn
I have loved the season of autumn this year. Usually I despise the change of weather out here in Utah because that means that snow is just around the corner. But this year has been a little different. It has been beautiful outside and I have just loved every minute. I've made Aaron join in on my love for autumn this year by helping me buy a pumpkin, eating apple pie with me (the lattice top one from Costco...heaven sent!!!), making carmel apples, and eating so many candy corns and the little pumpkins. I have been one happy girl!!

My boys....

So lately I have been so grateful for the family that I have married into. The Young's. I don't believe that anyone is as lucky as I am. I have the most WONDERFUL parent-in-laws and sibling-in-laws, also might I add the CUTEST nieces and nephew. I cant even begin to tell you how blessed I am to have such an amazing family. But what has truly been the best is having three of Aaron's brothers live 3 minutes down the street. Adam, Daniel and Kevin are lets just say, my guys!! I have LOVED every minute of having three older brothers just right down the street. It is my absolute favorite when they just randomly stop by our apartment just to say hi, or invite us over to have dinner with them. There has been a few times where I finish with class and Ill just go over to their place to catch up on life or sword fight (if you will). I LOVE IT!!!
One of the best things happened the other night when the four of them were playing flag football against some of my freshman year guy friends. One of the boys on the other team saw me sitting and watching on the side lines and yelled over, "Is that Megan Ensign?" With no hesitation all my brothers put that boy in his place and said, "No son, that's Megan Young!!" Aaron of course made sure to inform him that I was HIS wife. The kid was a little embarrassed since he got such a quick response, but we all seemed to get a good laugh out of it.
I cant begin to tell you how much I love these boys. They truly make my day when I see anyone of them. Again I feel so truly blessed to have three older brothers so close. Love you guys dearly!!

General Conference Oct. 2008

It is 11:41pm on Sunday night and i am still awake ponderingon the many blessings the Lord has given us. I feel so grateful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As most everybody else who will read this blog, Megan and I had the blessing of watching the sessions of both saturday and sunday. What a blessing it is to live in a day of Prophets and Apostles who lead and guide this church. What a blessing to know that amist all the political turmoil, and economic unrest, and unceasing wars and contention, we have inspired leaders who recieve revelation from God to lead and guide us. After waitching conference we would like to add our testimony to millions of others world wide that God lives and that he loves us. Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God. The Book of Mormon is true and testifies of Christ. Jesus Christ is the Saviour and Redeemer of the world. How blessed we are to have this knowledge.

The 2nd session on sunday was a very special session for me. The talk given by Elder Gavarret of the seventy was especially inspiring. I served in the Peru Lima North Mission and had the chance to serve with President Carlos Perez. In his talk, Elder Gavarret spoke of missionary and member work of reactivating the members of 14 stakes and 3 districts. He also spoke of a stake president in the Puente Piedra stake named President Alarcon. I had the blessing of serving in President Alarcon's ward and also of joing in the teachign of the hospel to his mother who was baptized.
Also the work of reactivating inacitve members was inspired by my mission president Carlos Perez, i was personally there when he told us of his inspired plan to work with the less active. He instructed us that every companionship in the whole mission would meet with there bishop every week, pray with them, and get a list of 10 inactive families to visit, as this work went on my time to leave the mission came. Now that i have been home for almost a year, i can see how the fruits of that great and marvalous plan. I have spoken with president perez recently and he has shared with me the progress that the missionaries are having with activating the members.
My heart is full of gratitude for the Lord and his inspired work. I am grateful for inspired leaders called of God to help in the Lord's work. Of those inspired leaders, President Perez has helped mold me into who i am today. I hope that everyone was able to feel of the spirit as we listened to General Conference this year and that we may all go forward willing to help in the Lord's work.

UPDATES!!!!!!!!
I'm awful... I know!! Time truly just keeps slipping away, and I know I need to keep updating the blog. So here is a very late update, but better late than never.
Aaron and I have started another semester of school. I am loving having a very busy schedule of dance and school. And Aaron is also enjoying going back to school. BIG NEWS!!!!! Aaron was accepted into Brigham Young University as a full time student starting Winter. I and many other people are so proud of him and all his hard work to getting into BYU. Congratulations sweetheart!!! Our lives stay super busy, and time together is very slim, but we are enjoying life and what is has to offer us.
Before we started school we were able to go on a summer vacation. We had an amazing time attending some dear friends weddings. (Aaron went to his mission buddies...Kyle Armsworthy and Moani Sprouts wedding in Canada, and then met me down in Arizona for my dear friend Aly Giles wedding.) We loved reliving our wedding and had great times with some wonderful friends.

After all the wedding fun, we were planning on heading down to Havasupi (A great backpacking spot at the mouth of the Grand Canyon), but there was a dam that broke and flooded the entire Indian reserve. This great disaster occurred the morning that we were going to head down there. So.....after a long summer of preparation for this backpacking adventure in the Grand Canyon, we decided to just pick up and go down to southern California for a fun vacation. Everything worked out perfectly. One of my best girlfriends, Lindsay Wright and her boyfriend Landon were also down there because that is where both of their families live. We were able to stay at Lindsay's grandparents beautiful home and had a great time going to the beach and also my favorite....DISNEYLAND!!! I am really breaking in Aaron to Disney. The boy had never been before, and now in the first summer we have been married I have taken him twice. Well its just the Ensign family tradition! Here are some of the fun adventures we had on our summer vacation.

Well life is great for the little Young Family. We miss both of our families dearly and wish we were closer, but we cant wait to see them during Christmas. Hope all is well with everyone!! Love y'all!

Camping again....
Birthday Fun!
Aaron and I both have our birthday's during summer. Mine being July 6th and his being August 4th. We have had fun having birthday weekends, which have included: Dinner and a movie one night (date night), our favorite homemade dinners another night, and our favorite kind of cake. For mine we had a blast going up to the Salt Lake Cheesecake Factory and then going to a drive-in movie. Aaron also made me a delicious wonton dinner, which is my absolute favorite, and then my cake was a vanilla cake with vanilla icing....mmmmmm. Aaron's birthday weekend is still continuing on since the real day is not till tomorrow, but we had a great weekend going down to Salt Lake's Gateway where we had a great night going to dinner at Chili's, shopping and the movie Dark Night. Tonight for dinner I made one of his favorites, cheese cracker chicken fingers and tomorrow we are going to have cake and ice cream with the brothers. It has been so fun to celebrate our birthdays close together and to have such great weekends.

The Luckiest Man in the World

Well this is actually Aaron writing this post; i never thought i would actually write on our blog but i really want to write how i feel. As of May 2, 2008 my life has completely changed. I have been married to the most beautiful, sweet, funny, kind, gorgeous, romantic, adorable person in the whole world. She is me everything! I wanted to write this post so everyone could know what an amazing woman i am married to. She is my sweetheart and i am so blessed to be able to spend my whole life right by her side. I would be so lost without her. She is the best wife, and i know one day will make the best mom; i mean she does have two perfect examples, her mom and my mom. One of my favorite things about megan is waking up every morning and being able to look at her beautiful smiling face. I love her dedication to life, her dedication in being the best at whatever she does. I also love the way she loves me, sometimeS i feel like i dont deserve someone so good, but i know that we make a perfect match. Despite our downfalls and our shortcomings, we are two of the happiest people in the whole world, because we have each other. She is my bestfriend, my baby, and my absolute everything. Megan Ensign Young... I LOVE YOU!!!

Camping
So this past weekend Aaron, Adam, Stephen Jett, Laree Hathcock, and me went camping in the great mountains of Utah. We had an AMAZING time. It was so nice just having a small group of close friends go and get away from work and everything else. Adam and Stephen just recently bought some shotguns...and man did we have some fun shooting skeet. We set up our camp in this very secluded area next to a creek and right in the middle of the mountains. We made foil dinners, roasted marshmallows and biscuits, conversed with many cows, and jammed to music around the campfire. All in all it was an awesome weekend. Great friends - Great times!! Here are some pictures....

Cooking with Crizzle
Well since being married I have tried to become friends with my domestic side. I will admit it is not one of my favorite things since I would rather be outside of our apartment doing flips on the huge patch of grass outside than be stuck in the kitchen for hours cooking. But I really am starting to find a love for cooking, thanks to my good friend Cara Cloward aka Crizzle. She is so good with food and anything domestic! I have loved learning new things from her. Thanks Cara!!

Making delicious homemade oreos!

My adorable friend Lauren Magleby made these for another one of my good friends Aly Giles bridal shower. They are little cake suckers, and are really made out of cake. So cute and she claims they are pretty easy to make!!! I will try and attempt these sometime.

You can find the recipe for these at bakerella.blogspot.com

BBQ with Friends
Just the other night my dear friend Cara Cloward, called a bunch of our good friends from freshman year together and we had a great, fun BBQ. All of us girls were on the same hall together freshman year and then as we moved into sophmore year we still couldnt depart....so ten of us moved all together into some condos. It has been so much fun watching eachother grow through all of our college experiences and seeing where we are in our lives now. I love you girls!!! Thanks for the great memories and the many more to come!
