Love in Arizona

Mr. Adam Scott Young and Ms. Amanda Dawson were officially married and sealed in the Mesa, Arizona temple on June 5th, 2009. What a great occasion it was to come together as the Young family and welcome in another girl! Aaron and I just absolutely loved being together with family....what more can you ask for? Enjoy the pictures!

One Year Anniversary

Well folks it has been a year!! A YEAR!! Can you believe it! People say the first year is the hardest and I pray that is true because if this was the hardest year, life is going to be peaches and cream from here on out. :) We were able to celebrate by going up to Park City, Utah for a short weekend getaway. We had a blast. It was Aaron's first time actually up there so we truly enjoyed ourselves. We got a killer deal on our hotel, since ski season is over. We were able to go down the Alpine slide and coaster which were incredible. We walked around downtown, shopped at the outlet malls, ate some great food, and loved celebrating together.

I am sure in love with Mr. Aaron Turner Young and look forward to what the future holds in store for us.

The Dancers' Company Midwest Tour

I will honestly say....I truly enjoyed myself on this three week dance tour. I was pleasantly surprised to realize just how beautiful SOME parts of the Midwest were. (Notice I said some and not all!) I adored Minneapolis and its quaint adorable houses and hometown feel, and what advocates the city was for the arts. I also truly enjoyed Chicago and the hustle and bustle of the city.
Some things I enjoyed:
*Taking dance class at the Jeofrey Ballet in Chicago and seeing the magnificent Marry Poppins on Broadway. She was just lovely!
*Performing in schools and watching the kids love and laugh at our performance.
*Being with the company and strengthening friendships.
*Going to Nauvoo and being able to do a temple session.
*Teaching a dance class in Detroit at the inner city Arts High School.
*Performing in six different states. Enjoying possibly my last time performing.
*All the great inside jokes and bus trips!!
Some things I could have done without:
*Being away from my husband for three weeks...and missing our one year anniversary.
*The fourteen hour bus ride home...though I was grateful it was that and not the 32 hour train ride that was originally scheduled.
*Feeling complete exhaustion at times.
*Eating casseroles
But all in all I had such an enriching time.

Graduation

Well first I will apologize for not updating the blog....but you have to understand I was gone on a three week dance tour, and just got back from my brother-in-laws wedding...and we have no Internet where we are residing now, so blog updates are few....sorry!!
I have officially graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Dance, emphasis in contemporary performance. Many people have asked me what I plan to do with this degree in the future. As of right now I am currently studying to receive my personal trainer certificate. BYU's dance program is known more for being educationally based then performance based. I was blessed to take MANY classes focusing on the body such as conditioning, anatomy (which I LOVED), kinesiology (the study of movement and how the body moves), and many more. I was fascinated with these classes and the knowledge I gained from them. I am not completely leaving my dance...don't be scared...I still cant live without it, but I am excited to use my knowledge of the body and how it works to helping people get into shape and living a healthier lifestyle. I am still ALWAYS looking for dance and teaching opportunities because this continues to be my passion.
Graduation was such a great time. My parents were both able to make it out to Utah, which I greatly appreciated. Aaron and I had a wonderful time spending quality time with them. Thanks for everything Mom and Dad!

Another great thing was that I was able to graduate with some of my dearest girlfriends. We met each other freshman year of college in the dorms, and have been best friends ever since. It is amazing how we were all able to graduate together. I love all of them dearly and plan to always keep in touch with them. Each one of them has touched my life in different ways. It is just such a unique thing to have such amazing friends. Love you all!!
