The Luckiest Man in the World

Well this is actually Aaron writing this post; i never thought i would actually write on our blog but i really want to write how i feel. As of May 2, 2008 my life has completely changed. I have been married to the most beautiful, sweet, funny, kind, gorgeous, romantic, adorable person in the whole world. She is me everything! I wanted to write this post so everyone could know what an amazing woman i am married to. She is my sweetheart and i am so blessed to be able to spend my whole life right by her side. I would be so lost without her. She is the best wife, and i know one day will make the best mom; i mean she does have two perfect examples, her mom and my mom. One of my favorite things about megan is waking up every morning and being able to look at her beautiful smiling face. I love her dedication to life, her dedication in being the best at whatever she does. I also love the way she loves me, sometimeS i feel like i dont deserve someone so good, but i know that we make a perfect match. Despite our downfalls and our shortcomings, we are two of the happiest people in the whole world, because we have each other. She is my bestfriend, my baby, and my absolute everything. Megan Ensign Young... I LOVE YOU!!!

Camping

So this past weekend Aaron, Adam, Stephen Jett, Laree Hathcock, and me went camping in the great mountains of Utah. We had an AMAZING time. It was so nice just having a small group of close friends go and get away from work and everything else. Adam and Stephen just recently bought some shotguns...and man did we have some fun shooting skeet. We set up our camp in this very secluded area next to a creek and right in the middle of the mountains. We made foil dinners, roasted marshmallows and biscuits, conversed with many cows, and jammed to music around the campfire. All in all it was an awesome weekend. Great friends - Great times!! Here are some pictures....

Cooking with Crizzle

Well since being married I have tried to become friends with my domestic side. I will admit it is not one of my favorite things since I would rather be outside of our apartment doing flips on the huge patch of grass outside than be stuck in the kitchen for hours cooking. But I really am starting to find a love for cooking, thanks to my good friend Cara Cloward aka Crizzle. She is so good with food and anything domestic! I have loved learning new things from her. Thanks Cara!!

Making delicious homemade oreos!

My adorable friend Lauren Magleby made these for another one of my good friends Aly Giles bridal shower. They are little cake suckers, and are really made out of cake. So cute and she claims they are pretty easy to make!!! I will try and attempt these sometime.

You can find the recipe for these at bakerella.blogspot.com

BBQ with Friends

Just the other night my dear friend Cara Cloward, called a bunch of our good friends from freshman year together and we had a great, fun BBQ. All of us girls were on the same hall together freshman year and then as we moved into sophmore year we still couldnt depart....so ten of us moved all together into some condos. It has been so much fun watching eachother grow through all of our college experiences and seeing where we are in our lives now. I love you girls!!! Thanks for the great memories and the many more to come!

Back to reality....

Well here we finally reach the point we are both at right this very second.....we have now entered the world of reality. After all the fun we had over this past month it is now time to realize that life is not a continual wedding party. Though we still plan on having a fun summer since I am only planning on taking one class this summer and both of us are just going to work.

We have completed the long three-day road trip from Georgia to Utah. It was quite the experience. We loaded up our Penske truck and headed west. As you all know tornadoes have been hitting the Midwest this past week and both of us can testify to that. We experienced the crazy weather first hand. But we are finally back in good ol Provo, Utah safe and sound.

We have finally moved into our apartment...YAY!!! We really do enjoy it. It is small, but perfect for us. I honestly say that we are completely moved in. We really enjoy all the greenery surrounding us and also the people.

We went to church yesterday which was about one block down the street, and really enjoyed the ward and the bishop. It was quite the family ward experience when the first counselor stood up to announce that there had been three babies born within the past week, and later to find out that half the ward is pregnant!

Again we are so grateful for all the love and support of family and dear friends. We are still having the time of our lives starting off a new life together!

The Honeymoon

Well after the fun times we had in Georgia we were off to spend a fun filled week in Destin, Florida at Sandestin Resort and Orlando, Florida at Walt Disney World. To say the least we had an absolute blast!!! It was so fun to relax and enjoy being with eachother on vacation. We had perfect weather the entire week. Some of our highlights were going to the beach, shopping at the Polo outlets in Destin, miniture golfing, taking a sunset boat ride to see dolphins, swam with small sharks, experiencing the magical world of Disney (which I am obsessed with), riding rides again and again, and just being with oneanother and being married.

Sweet Southern Reception

WoW....what an amazing, elegant, fun, enjoyable, southern-esque reception we had. My mother did such an AMAZING job with the reception. I do not take credit for anything....it all goes to her. She did everything from the table settings to the favors and everything in between. She put together an event like I had never seen before. Thanks a ton mom!! There were also so many other people who helped out and we thank y'all too. The reception was something I had only dreamed about.

It took place at the Marietta Garden Canter in downtown Marietta. It is a small black and white house, that served as a resting place for leaders during the civil war time, and is set back in the middle of large oak trees, and a wrap around front porch. Picture perfect!! In every room of the house a different event took place. One room was designated for food, which was catered by Sweet Tomatoes, and included everything from soup and salads, regular and sweet potatoes, shrimp, cornbread, muffins, cookies and more. One room was a small library with a very antique piano, which provided some room to sit down. Another room had our delicious cake, and the room next to it was a small sitting lounge that included our story of how we met and a slide show of pictures. We also had a tent set up outside for people to eat and enjoy one another. Last but not least the dance floor. Of course this was my favorite room. We had so much fun dancing the night away.

Here are just some highlights of what took place on the dance floor:
1. Connor Ensign breaking it down with his oh so original dance moves and busting out the WORM for all to witness.
2. Justin Young creating the first circle of the night and breaking it down in the middle of it, with everyone chanting "Go Justin, Go Justin, Go Justin"!
3. Maryn Young who never stopped dancing the entire night!! I promise you this child is a natural born dancer. She loved it and couldn't stop spinning the whole night.
4. Grandma Ensign decided to join in on the dance cha-cha slide....who would have thought she had it in her!!
5. The Young boys getting crunk on soulja boy! Im sure there were a few rattled people after that number.
6. All my girls from high school and college dancing together during mambo #5. That was so fun for me to be dancing with everyone again.
7. Connor Ensign and Brynna Young.....I guess little Brynna was hesitant to come out and dance but when asked by my brother she took the invitation and danced right along with him.
8. Dancing with my Dad was definitely one of the highlights of my night. I sure do love him. Thanks Dad!
9. Of course the first dance as a married couple with my hubby was unforgettable...man I sure do love him.
10. Phil and Jody both made an appearance on the floor. But I have to say that Jody swinging her pearl necklace above her head and dancing for all to see was one of the highlights of the night!!!!

Thanks again everyone for the amazing night!!! We love you all!!! Again.....more pictures to come, I promise!!!

Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Turner Young

On May 2nd, 2008, around one o'clock, it finally became official that Aaron Turner Young and I, Megan Laura Ensign (Now Megan Ensign Young)...were married and sealed together for time and all eternity in the Atlanta, Georgia temple. How wonderful this occasion was and what great it was to be surrounded by the people we love dearly. Here are just a few pictures of us out by the temple....I promise more will come later.

Leading up to the big event....

So before the actually marriage went down, there was so many great events that took place. One being that my awesome, wonderful girlfriends/ bridesmaids flew in for the wedding. (Cara Cloward, Aly Giles, Lindsay Wright and Ashley Bird) We had such a great time together. We had the opportunity to stay in downtown Atlanta, at Atlantic Station for a night, shop around and get a brief tour of what Georgia has to offer. They helped out with the wedding, especially Cara who did all of the flower arrangements....she is just amazing!! So again it was fun for me to give them a little taste of what the south has to offer. Love you girls!!

Another great event that took place was the Southern BBQ. Instead of having a huge rehearsal dinner the night before we found it only appropriate to have a southern BBQ dinner. We had all family members and dear friends who had traveled for the wedding, over for this event. I loved it!! It was so casual and exactly what I was wanting. We had it at my home and it was just so enjoyable to have both of the families together. Thanks again to everyone who helped out!!

I know Aaron had the opportunity to go have some more fun after the BBQ, the night before the wedding. Him and his 4 brothers and some close guy friends went out to US Play for his last night as a single man. They had fun just bowling and enjoying each other.

We're MARRIED!!!

Alrighty folks....finally, weeks after our wonderful marriage I am getting around to the blog!! Now it will definitely come here in a few posts, so be patient with me. Also our wedding pictures will come later since we are waiting on the photographer, but I promise it will be worth it.

Just a quick update....Aaron and I are SOOOOO happy!! We love being married. Probably the best thing that has happened to both of us. We have been so blessed from the AMAZING wedding to the fun honeymoon and even to traveling cross country back to Utah and settling into our first apartment. We have had a blast. So thank you to everyone who has made these events possible for us!! We are having the best times sharing these experiences together.
