Some of my favorite things..

Living within the craziness of the city, which I am still trying to get settled into, I have found comfort and love in a few different things around town.

One - HONEYDEW MELON yogurt! Now I have done the whole yogurt thing in Provo...it has been quite the craze out there, but nothing and I mean nothing compares to Ice Berry's Honeydew Melon flavored yogurt. I am telling you it is the best thing my taste buds have come in contact with in years. My weakness is walking to Georgetown some nights, after a long day, and getting one of these little treats. I am telling you it is one of a kind. (Sorry the picture is of strawberry...but just pretend its green for honeydew!)
Two - I walked into CVS today to pick up a few items, (which by the way there seems to be millions of CVS' around DC...why CVS?...i dunno), and I ran into the goodness of up and coming FALL. Candy Corns and Pumpkins!! Oh how I love them....but only come fall time. They just make me so happy....so does the price.
Three - On my way to work as I am walking through Georgetown, I love walking by this paper store called Paper-Source. It just has so many bright colors and creative ideas for invitations, cards, party favors and much more. It makes me want to throw parties for a living. Love it!.

Four - Last but not least...I just thought I would write about how I love Coke Zero. I don't drink it too often, but its a great little treat!

How bout them COUGARS!!!!!

For those of you who are unaware, BYU just beat the #3 ranked Oklahoma 14-13. It was an unbelievable game. We watched it at my parents hotel room. Needless to say, I don't think the neighbors appreciated my yelling and screaming but oh well, they will get over it. We look forward to a great football season and couldn't have asked for a better start!!! Go COUGARS!!!

love dem' Georgia peaches...

Since blogging and I were not the best of friends this summer...I have a little bit of catching up to do. Aaron and I after our cruise and Disney vacation ended up staying back in Georgia for about 5 weeks, until we moved up to DC. We loved it!! It is so nice to both be able to call Georgia home and have both families within 20 minutes of each other. We were constantly with family and would not have wanted it any other way.

Aaron and I both celebrated our birthday's. Aaron turned 23, while I turned 22...geez we are getting old, lol. Here are just some pics of those celebrations.





For both of our birthday's we went out on the town one night in Atlanta. We started the night off by going to Ruths Chris....ummmm best steak I ever ate and will eat in my life. Who would have thought it was possible to cut through a steak with a fork? (it is...I experienced it) Then I thought it would be fun to take Aaron to a broadway show at the fabulous FOX theatre. We saw "Grease" and loved it!


One of Aaron's best friends, Stephen Jett, got hitched this summer to Miss Jenaca...who we adore...might I add. Aaron was able to fly out to Utah for their wedding. He also loved being back with his brothers.



Georgia not only means family for us but also some dear friends from the Marietta East Stake. Who knows the next time we all will be together again, but it was fun to see the people we did.


Last but not least...we loved hanging out with these little monkeys. Our three ADORABLE nieces...Maryn, Brynna and Lauryn. We just had too much fun seeing them this summer and how quickly they are growing up. For their birthday's this year we took them to build a bear and just had a ball.






Well that was our summer in a nutshell. Family, family, family! I just wanted to also say how great it was for me to be back with my siblings Connor and Ansley. They are just the best.....Aaron and I shared some great memories with them. Well we love our family and we love Georgia. Thanks y'all!

Job Success!

Well I have landed a part time position at the GAP in Georgetown, which is just right down the street from where we live!! Hooray hooray!! And I am also looking for possibly another position as a personal trainer....Ill keep ya posted on that. P.S. I officially became certified as a personal trainer a few weeks ago - through ACE (American Council on Exercise). A lot of stress studying, but it all paid off. YAY!

Aaron is enjoying his job. He loves the people he is working with. And is excited for the next three months.

Today while Aaron was at work I went to the National Gallery of Art. I only hit about half of it, because after 3 hours I needed a break. These were just three of my favorite pieces of art.

Crazy I know....but there is so much depth to it. Throughout the chaos there is organization....GENIUS!! You have to see it in person. I went back a second time just to enrich myself with detail.

What of Monet's isn't just GRAND? There where so many Monet and Manet paintings I liked it was hard to choose one.

Back in July Aaron and I went with my family on a summer vacation. We went on a cruise down to Grand Cayman Island and Cozumel, Mexico...where we got to see the ancient ruins of Tulum. After that we headed over to Disney World and had a great time there. All this was in celebration of my parents 25th Anniversary! Here is just a picture album of all our fun times.

Well folks, we are now currently residing in our nations capital: Washington D.C. What a journey it has been to get here and how thrilled we are to start this new adventure together. We moved into the Barlow Center which is right off of Pennsylvania Avenue (same street Mr. Obama himself lives), and have moved into a quite a comfortable studio apartment. Even though it is smaller than our last apartment we feel it to be a bit of an upgrade because it does not contain cinder block walls and the bathroom is actually bigger. (Carter's don't be jealous! lol). We go to sleep and wake up to the beautiful sound of car horns, and live in the constant hustle and bustle of the city. (By the way I know I should be apologizing for not blogging for the past who knows how long....but please forgive me....lets all just put that behind us and pretend it didn't even happen...ok?....sorry again! :) ) We are about a ten minute walk to the White House and everything else within the city is also pretty much at walking distance. It is a bit of an adjustment to move here from Georgia, but we are loving it and ready for what lies ahead.

Aaron began his internship (The President's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities) this morning...he seemed excited and ready to start. We will have to report back later on how he likes it. I am still currently trying to find a job. A few interviews..and a few prospects...we will see how things go. Funny story: I was looking online at local dance companies that were auditioning and found one that was looking for people. I emailed one of the directors and she seemed to be impressed with my resume and encouraged me to audition. I was stoked thinking this could be a great opportunity....but came to find out it is an African American dance group that mostly performs African dance. Can you imagine blonde headed white girl on stage with all her brothers and sisters breaking it down in African tribal outfits! Yeah....Ill keep looking!

Well again life is a little unknown...exciting....and grand. I will try to get some of our summer adventures up and posted. Thanks to all those people who are looking at this blog and still have faith in me. I will be better....promise.
